It’s about more than the book

Each month we choose a book that gives us something worth talking about. Fiction, memoir, history or contemporary writing might open conversations about identity, relationships, family, resilience, service or simply life.

You don’t need to be a literary expert and you don’t need to share your own story, in fact you don’t need to have read the book. The book starts the conversation. Where it goes from there is up to the group.

Who can join?

Pride in Service welcomes people aged 18+ including LGBTQIA+ current and former ADF members, Defence partners and family members, and allies.

Come for one book that interests you or become a regular.

How does it work?

We meet monthly for around 60 minutes, with time for facilitated conversation followed by an informal catch-up.
